OG Kush: strain, aroma and formats
OG Kush is a hybrid and one of the best-known Kush strains. Its aroma combines pine, wood and earth with lemon and a note of fuel. At SHEESH, OG Kush comes in two separate lines: as Superior BUDZ with 1 g and as CBD BUDZ with 3.5 g. The strain name is the same, the products are different. Here you can read where the strain comes from, what OG means and how the two lines differ.

OG Kush: origin of the strain
According to Leafly, the history of the strain begins in Florida, where it was first grown in the early nineties. In 1996, Matt "Bubba" Berger brought it from there to Los Angeles. You can find the key facts in the strain database of Leafly.
Leafly names Chemdawg and Hindu Kush as parents. However, the same source also mentions a version with Chemdawg, a strain from Northern California, Lemon Thai and a Hindu Kush plant from Amsterdam. So the exact lineage is not documented. Its descendants are known, though, for example GSC and Bruce Banner.
What the OG in the name means
Two explanations circulate for the two letters. One is Original Gangster, the other Ocean Grown. There is no official explanation, and Leafly points out that people interpret the name differently. The word Kush, on the other hand, fits the Hindu Kush line in the family tree. There are also well-known phenotypes of the strain, meaning different expressions of the same strain. These include Tahoe OG, SFV OG and Ghost OG.
OG Kush strain: Indica, Sativa or hybrid
If you search for the OG Kush strain, you will find different information. Leafly lists the strain as a hybrid. Other strain databases and the SHEESH product pages speak more precisely of an indica-dominant hybrid. The two do not contradict each other, because the second is a finer classification of the first. According to none of this information is it a sativa-dominant strain. What the classification says and does not say is explained in the guide Indica and Sativa.
Aroma and taste: pine, earth and lemon
Leafly lists woody, pine and earthy as the taste. The smell adds lemon and fuel, plus skunk and spice. According to Leafly, a real plant of this strain should smell of lemon, pine and fuel. This mix is the best way to recognize the profile.
Leafly names myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene as the most important terpenes. Myrcene stands for the herbal, earthy side, limonene for the citrus note and caryophyllene for the pepper. What these substances are is explained in the guide Terpenes.
Buy OG Kush: two flowers at SHEESH
The range currently has the strain in two flower products. You can find all other strains of each line under Superior flowers and CBD Budz 3.5 g.
Superior BUDZ or CBD BUDZ: two lines with the same name
Both products have the same strain name, but they are two different flowers from two product lines. So you cannot apply the information for one line to the other. The details are on each product page. At first glance, the lines differ as follows:
- Superior BUDZ OG Kush: the pack with 1 g, individually packed. The product page describes the aroma as earthy and spicy with a peppery edge.
- CBD BUDZ OG Kush: the larger pack with 3.5 g. Here the product page names earthy, spicy and woody with a trace of citrus. You can also find the CBD content there.
An overview of both lines is in the category SHEESH Budz.
